Hi ,
With the end of the financial year nearly upon us, many people turn their minds to making donations to their favourite charities. Please take a minute to consider how your funds could help the Rationalist Society of Australia.
While we don’t have deductible gift recipient (DGR) status – so your donation would not be tax deductible – we can promise your dollars would go a long way in the coming 12 months.
Take a look at some of our achievements from the past 12 months.
We’ve played a leading role in two major campaigns, alongside other freethought organisations: the Census21 campaign, encouraging people to mark ‘No Religion’ if they were not religious; and the #DontDivideUs campaign against the Morrison government’s Religious Discrimination Bill.
We’ve published two parts of RSA Fellow Neil Francis’s fabulous Religiosity in Australia series, which provides the most comprehensive look into religious observance in the nation.
We’ve established our new online Rationale magazine as a platform for rationalist thinkers to discuss and debate big issues, from history and philosophy to science and politics.
We’ve made three awards to Australian scholars, worth $35,000, under the RSA Research Grants Program.
We’ve spearheaded reporting and lobbying on issues that need secular reform – such as prayers in local councils, religious instruction in government schools, school chaplaincy and Defence Force chaplaincy.
And every morning we’ve made it easier for you to keep up-to-date with articles of interest in the media through our breakfast-time RSA Daily bulletins.
Now, with a new government in Canberra, we’ve laid out a big agenda to achieve long-overdue secular reforms and to promote reason, evidence-based policy and science.
If you value this work, you can help us make an even bigger impact.
Your donations will help us cover the cost of our staffing (1.2 full-time equivalent), create and maintain high-standard online platforms and content, amplify our campaign messages on social media, travel to meet with decision makers and pay contributors to Rationale.
