Hi ,
Just a quick note to let you know of two fabulous cultural events for Rationalists (who said we live only in our heads!)
For those of you living close to Castlemaine, a very special screening of the controversial documentary, The Unredacted,
at the Castlemaine Film Festival on Wed 3 May. Film-maker Meg Smaker will be there in person, and believe me, she is a force to be reckoned with. Read her
background and how her documentary was all but cancelled. Not to be missed!
When: 7.30pm on Wed 3 May
Where: Theatre Royal, 30 Hargreaves St, Castlemaine
Tix: Trybooking here.
And then for all who live in Melbourne, such a treat! The premier of "Origins - of the Universe, of Life,
of Species, of Humanity", a major new oratorio conceived by singer and evolutionary geneticist Jenny Graves PhD, FAA, AC, to held at the Melbourne Recital Centre in July.
Jenny writes,
"The aim of 'Origins' is to bring the beauty and wonder of science to the public, and to express some of the most profound scientific truths in inspirational music. It will fill an oft-lamented gap in the choral repertoire for major contemporary secular works, and we expect it will be performed in Australia and overseas for decades to
come."
When: 7.30pm on Tues 18 July
Where: Elisabeth Murdoch Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre
Tix: Melbourne Recital Centre here.
Hope to see you there!
