The Northern Territory was the first jurisdiction in the world to legalise voluntary assisted dying - in 1995! This, of course, was overturned by the scandalous 'Andrews bill', which imposed federal law over the (somewhat) dependent territory of the NT [may the greasy Kevin Andrews
forever squirm in his grave when the time comes]. Now, at last, the NT parliament has begun the consultation process to bring in a law once again to legalise a compassionate end-of-life option.
