Today, we’re pleased to share with you the latest volume in Neil Francis’ landmark Religiosity in Australia series on Australians’ real relationship with religion.

In Part 4 – Religion and charity – Francis examines the charitable behaviours of religious and non-religious Australians as individuals.

While religionists engage in higher levels of volunteerism and charitable donations, Francis finds that they do so more for their own benefit and for the benefit of their own congregations, while also experiencing much higher levels of coercion.
