It’s through the continued support of our members, donors and volunteers that we’re making an impact, in particular in our advocacy of much-needed secular reforms and evidence-based public policy.

Here are some highlights of our advocacy work in recent months:

• We’ve helped put the need for transparency and accountability of Basic Religious Charities on the radar of the Productivity Commission. See here.
• We played a leading role in successfully calling on the federal Labor Party to re-adopt its previous commitment to “secular” public education. See here.
• We’ve continued to champion for the replacement or removal of religious prayers in local governments and in state and federal parliaments. See here.
• We’ve also spearheaded the push for secular reform of the Defence Force – especially the institution's reliance on religious-based chaplaincy as its frontline wellbeing capability. See here.
• We’ve also worked alongside other pro-secular groups in successful joint activities, including in staging the first Secularism Australia Conference and in lobbying the Australian Bureau of Statistics to change the Census religion question.

And we continue to provide platforms such as our Rationale magazine, our new-look RSA Weekly bulletin, The Secular Agenda podcast and our RSA Webinars.

Plus, we have published the fifth instalment in social researcher Neil Francis’s Religiosity in Australia series – providing the most comprehensive picture of religious adherence in Australia.

We don’t have deductible gift recipient (DGR) status, so your donations to us are not tax deductible for you. But the benefit that you get from donating to us is knowing that your contributions directly go to supporting our campaigns and communications activities.
