Hi ,
With Australia’s human rights record to be put in the spotlight at the United Nations Human Rights Council next year, we have taken the opportunity to raise our concerns about the
treatment of non-religious Australians.
We have led a joint effort by non-religious, ex-religious and pro-secular groups to highlight the discriminatory and unfair treatment of non-religious Australians in government institutions and programs.
This month, we have made a submission to the
Universal Periodic Review (Fourth Cycle) into Australia’s human rights.
In the submission, we have documented discriminatory and unfair treatment towards non-religious people on the grounds of religion and belief. The submission points out that such discrimination is at odds with Australia’s international human rights commitments.
